Rispetto alle valigie rigide presentano l'inconveniente di lasciar più esposto il proprio bagaglio ad eventuali malintenzionati (problema facilmente risolvibile con delle reti in acciaio vedi: qui ), mentre non presentano l'inconveninte di rotture a telaietti o valigie stesse durante la guida in offroad o a seguito di caduta.
Potendo essere installate sulla moto senza ausilio di barre laterali, riducono inoltre la sagoma d'ingombro, agevolando i passaggi in punti stretti.
Nella mia esperienza ho verificato che spesso le borse da MountainBike o zainetti di altro tipo risultano più pratiche e robuste di quelle apposite per l'utilizzo motocilistico da strada (non ho ancora avuto occasione di provare prodotti tipo saddlebags o borse dpecifiche per impiego offroad).
Questo tipo di borse presenta però il problema di non avere alcun tipo di protezione dal calore del terminale di scarico, dove necessariamente vanno a posizionarsi.
Vediamo quindi come ovviare a questo inconveniente nella maniera più economica possibile.

Una volta acquistate le borse (questa volta testerò gli economicissimi zainetti militari in dotazione all'Esercito Italiano alla fine degli anni 90) e individuato il metodo migliore per l'ancoraggio sul veicolo, scegliete quale delle due borse starà a contatto col terminale di scarico (ovviamente in caso di terminale singolo).
Ponetelo sul piano di lavoro e tagliate la rete metallica in modo da poter avere un rettangolo grande quanto la parte della borsa che starà a contatto col terminale.
